Dissertation Defense And Graduation

I’m happy to say that I successfully defended my dissertation on December 8, 2022! I was waiting until my edits were approved by both my committee and the graduate school, and now that task is done, I can officially celebrate my success. My dissertation is now published here.

(From left to right) Joe Gabbard, Nicholas Polys, Tobias Hollerer, Lee Lisle, and Doug Bowman.

I’d like to thank my advisor, Dr. Doug Bowman, for his guidance and expertise in the field of augmented and virtual reality. I’d also like to thank my committee members, Joe Gabbard, Chris North, Tobias Hollerer, Nicholas Polys, and Edward J.K. Gitre, who all gave me excellent feedback on my dissertation document and pushed me to get out of my comfort zone.

So, now what? I have several applications out for both academic and industry positions, but I’m looking for more places that need highly qualified researchers on augmented and virtual reality. I’ll, of course, post here once I can freely announce a position that I’ve found.
